Kia ora, I’m Nikki.

I am a therapist, social worker and wellness praticioner based in Christchurch, specialized in Trauma recovery and Healing. My work brings together evidence-based therapy and body-based practices, because I believe that healing is most powerful when the mind, body, and spirit are supported together..
I have been privileged to walk alongside many people navigating the impacts of trauma, anxiety, and life’s challenges. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique story. I do this work because I have seen the difference it can make, not just in easing symptoms, but in helping people feel empowered, hopeful, and connected again.
In my practice, I use a blend of approaches tailored to each person’s needs, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), mindfulness-based strategies, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and Reiki. These methods help people process difficult experiences, regulate their nervous system, and reconnect with their inner strengths.
As a social worker, I also take a holistic view of wellbeing, looking beyond symptoms to consider the whole person within their wider environment. This means exploring the social, cultural, and practical factors that influence your life, and working together to identify supports and resources that can help you thrive.
Whether we’re talking, moving, or working with energy, my aim is always to meet you whewhere you are, honour your pace, and walk alongside you in your journey toward greater ease, safety, and authenticity.
The Birth of Harmoniya
Harmoniya was born from a vision I carried quietly for many years; a soft, persistent calling to offer healing in a way that honours the whole person.
In my work as a counsellor and social worker, I always felt the true wellbeing needed more than conversation alone; it needed space, gentleness, and connection to the deeper rhythms of life. I dreamed of weaving together talk therapy, somatic healing, trauma processing, spiritual awareness and the grounded support people need to shape their daily lives.
Long before I had a cabin or a property of my own, I held an image in my heart: a warm wooden room in the countryside, a fire glowing, the scent of earth and timber, and a quiet energy that feels like being wrapped in a blanket. I imagined clients driving with their worries carried tight in their bodies, and leaving with a little more ease in their chest, as little more steadiness int her steps, and a sense that hope was returning.
I wanted a space that didnt just offer therapy, but where therapy could breathe.
The land here Harmoniya now lives is a part of the healing itself. Out here, the noise drops, the rolling green, the open sky and the gentleness of rural life all contribute to a sense of spaciousness that people feel the moment they arrive.
An unspoken invitation to slow down, settle, and reconnect with your own inner truth.
This place feels sacred to be. The land listens, the land softens, the land reminds us that healing is not rushed; it naturally moves in seasons.
When people step onto this property, they often say they feel themselves'arrive' before they even reach the cabin. I believe that is the soul of Harmoniya, working through the earth itself.
The horses and dogs who share this land are part of the Harmoniya family. Their presence brings a kind of grounding and authenticity that can not be taught. Horses, with their quiet wisdom and intuitive sensitivity, mirror back our emotions with honesty and gentleness. Dogs bring warmth, safety, and a sense of companionship that eases the nervous system.
Whether they are simply grazing in the background or offering their calm presence nearby, animals remind us to return to our bodies, to breathe, and to feel what is real. Many clients find the being near them helps them settle, open up, and connect with themselves in a deeper, more embodied way.

Harmoniya comes from
Harmony /ˈhɑːməni/.
The term harmony derives from the Greek ἁρμονία harmonia, meaning "joint, connect and fit together"
